1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Vortex ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and StormGlass Interactive ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), reachable at stormglassinteractive.com.
2. Description of Service
Vortex is a unit and currency conversion application for Android devices. The App provides:
- Conversion across 200+ measurement units in 10+ categories
- Foreign exchange rate conversions using cached rate data from open.er-api.com
- A home screen widget for quick access to recent conversions
- Conversion history stored locally on your device
- An optional Pro upgrade with additional features
3. License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, StormGlass Interactive grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Vortex on Android devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Rent, lease, or sublicense the App to any third party
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Remove or alter any copyright or trademark notices
4. In-App Purchases — Vortex Pro
4.1 Pro Features. Vortex offers a one-time purchase ("Vortex Pro") at $2.99 USD (price may vary by region) that unlocks: live currency rates, Compare Mode, home screen widget, 5 custom color themes, and unlimited conversion history.
4.2 Payment. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. You agree to Google Play's Terms of Service for all purchases.
4.3 No Subscription. The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase. You will never be charged a recurring fee for Pro features.
4.4 Refunds. Refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policy. Contact support@stormglassinteractive.com if you experience issues.
4.5 Restore Purchases. Tap "Restore Purchase" in Settings → Pro screen to restore your Pro access on a new device or after reinstalling.
5. Currency Exchange Rates
⚠️ Important: Currency rates are provided for INFORMATIONAL and REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY. Vortex is not a financial service or investment advisor.
Exchange rates displayed in the App may differ from actual interbank rates, bank rates, or rates offered by any exchange service. Do not use Vortex for actual financial transactions, investment decisions, or business-critical currency conversions without verifying rates from an authorized financial institution.
When offline, the App uses the most recently cached rates. The timestamp of the last update is displayed in the App.
6. Intellectual Property
All content in Vortex, including but not limited to the name "Vortex", the StormGlass Interactive name and logo, app design, graphics, code, and user interface, is the exclusive property of StormGlass Interactive and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: (a) the App will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) exchange rates will be accurate or current; (c) any conversion results will be suitable for any specific purpose.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STORMGLASS INTERACTIVE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRO UPGRADE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which StormGlass Interactive operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App.
